Frocktails is an international sewing-focused event that originated in Melbourne, Australia over 10 years ago. It's a community get-together where home sewists congregate to meet other sewists in their community, talk all things sewing with people who get it, raise money for their local sewing community, and most importantly walk a runway wearing a handmade garment. It’s an inclusive place for attendees to share their sewing stories, get inspired by others' creations, and make new sewing friends and connections.

The indie sewing universe that began on Instagram, and continues to gain popularity, helped push the desire for frocktails events far and wide. With the help of several volunteers and a collaboration with local community sewing center, the City Sewing Room, the Sewing Society of STL hosted the first ever frocktails in St. Louis in the spring of 2024. The event was a huge success, which means we are going to do it all again this year - I can't wait to see what you all create for the 2025 runway!
